“Next station, Tsim Sha Tsui. Doors will open on the right.”
It was like half a red carpet welcome, only sans smiles, cameras, and of course - a red carpet. Commuters lined up by the sides of the train door, with apparently glassed expressions. Beside her, the man in a neatly-pressed suit with navy blue silk tie marched out promptly the moment the door opened, while the teenager sauntered out nonchalantly, music blaring from his camouflage headphones. Eyes darting around after exiting the platform, she smiled when she spotted an enthusiastic wave in her direction. She took some quick strides towards the figure, with a thousand thoughts racing through her head, before she flung her arms around him as he reciprocated with a warm squeeze and a pat on the back.
“I’ve missed you so.”
