All the freedom in the world, all the love of her friends, all the food around her, and all the opportunities waiting for her to discover. Yet, as quickly as she learnt to push her limits to achieve more, everything came crashing down.
It was like an addiction, or perhaps a disease, but no one could comprehend why she had fallen this way - hard. Not even her parents could invoke a response from her, and neither did she want to pick up her favourite books anymore.
From a corner, her friend pleaded, “Please, oh please, just let her come back to us so we can be together once more. Just for one more drink, and one more laugh.”
